Lige Edward Williamson, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on September 26, 2025, at the age of 72 in his residence in Canada, Kentucky. Born on September 21, 1953, in Pikeville, Kentucky, Lige was a man known for his warmth, kindness, and the deep connections he forged with those around him.
Lige was a devoted father to his four children: Michael (Jennifer) Gattes, Rebekah (Hani) Von Andele, Denise (Adam) Collins, and Seth (Nersia) Williamson. He cherished each moment spent with them and took great pride in their accomplishments and growth throughout the years. His legacy is enriched by the love he shared with his grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life: Mallory and Elijah Gattes, Aleczander and Liev Von Andele, As well as Zailen, Desireee, Seth Jr., and Lige Ezra Coleman.
Lige was predeceased by his father, Elijah Williamson, and his mother, June Williamson, alongside his sister, Vida Moon, and brother, Christopher Williamson. Each of these family members held a special place in his heart and were fondly remembered by him.
As we remember Lige Edward Williamson, we celebrate a life marked by love and devotion to his family. The memories he created will forever resonate with those who were fortunate to know him, leaving behind a lasting legacy of compassion and integrity.
A private memorial service will be planned at a later date by the family.
