Liley Anthony Porche, Jr., age 92, passed away on Saturday, April 1st, 2023. Liley, also known by many as “Sonny”, was a native of Bayou Dularge and a longtime resident of Houma, Louisiana.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the blessing of the grave at St. Francis de Sales Mausoleum, April 29th, 2023, at 1:00 PM.
Sonny is survived by his four sons; Clark and wife, Mona; Keith and wife, Margaret; Timothy and wife, Dawne; and Kevin and wife, Cindy; ten grandchildren, Jason, Michelle, Blake, Christopher, Corey, Ashley, Timothy II, Ryan, Brittney and Logan; seven great-grandchildren, Avery, Hadley, Greer, Charlie, Casey, Timothy III, and Rory; and his brother Roy Porche.
Sonny is preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Gertrude Marie Porche, parents Liley Porche, Sr. and Inez Porche; sisters Romona Porche, Ruth Samanie, Ianna McElroy, Sherry Fischer, March Ella Bellon, Wanda Derouen, and Fay Bourg; brothers Lindsey and Ronald Porche.
Sonny was an avid reader of the Bible who believed and loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was blessed with a beautiful family and adored his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He often spoke about being reunited with his wife, Gertrude, his mother and father, and the rest of his family who passed before him. He truly believed he was going to a better place in Heaven and that he will be reunited with his family and Jesus in the future. May he rest in the arms of the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
