Lillian Firestone Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Barnes-Friederich & Pope Funeral Home - Midwest City on Jan. 12, 2026.
Lillian Lavietta Clifton was born to Jerry Walter and Florence Clifton on January 25, 1930, in Fletcher, Oklahoma. At this time the family was living in a tent with several inches of snow on the ground. Lillian was the fourth of eight children, with three older sisters – Evelyn, Lelia and Lydia and four younger siblings – Frances, Melzina, Franklin and Bertha.
The family settled in Choctaw, Oklahoma when Lillian was very young. She attended Choctaw Schools until 16 years of age when she married Sherron Wells. Sherron and Lillian had seven children; William, Andrew, Linda, Lavietta, Timothy, Kenneth, and Elizabeth, and resided in Wynnewood, Oklahoma where Sherron worked in the oilfields. The family moved to Oklahoma City in 1964 and after 19 years of marriage, Lillian and Sherron divorced.
Lillian worked at Western Electric to support herself and her seven children. She eventually managed to save enough money to buy a boat, and her children took many trips to the different lakes around Oklahoma camping and teaching the children how to water ski.
While working at Western electric, Lillian met Eugene Firestone, and they were married in 1973. When Gene decided to retire, Lillian left Western Electric to become a realtor. Lillian and Gene bought an RV and spent most of their time traveling, camping and fishing. They spent most of their winter months in Arizona as snowbirds. Gene Firestone passed away in 2006 after 33 years of marriage. Lillian continued to live in Oklahoma City and spent her time loving and caring for numerous fur babies.
Lillian is preceded in death by her children, Elizabeth, William, and Timothy. She is survived by children, Andrew, Linda, Lavietta and Kenneth; granddaughters, Jennifer, Amy, Laurie, and Mary; great grandchildren, Jordan, Maricca and Gabe; great-great grandchildren, Faith and Leia. She is also survived by her sister, Bertha.
