It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Lillian Mae Hart, who left this earth on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at the age of 69, with her husband and children by her side.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Jennings~Lyons Chapel in Owosso, with Pastor Jerry Walden officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of service.
Born on November 19, 1956, to Donald and Beverly (Herrick) Porter, Sr., Lil grew up in Owosso alongside her siblings Donald Jr. and Shelia. It was there she met the love of her life, Roger "Bud" Hart, at the Hickory Lounge. They married on September 6, 1975, and recently celebrated 50 years of marriage, a union defined by laughter, devotion, and unmistakable sass.
Lil is survived by her loving husband, Bud; children Laura (Derek Chapko) and Buddy (Carrie) Hart; stepson Lloyd Hart; Daughter in law Patricia; grandchildren- Corisa (Curran) Jacobs, Caitlyn Hoskins, Joel, Justice, Hannah, Dezaray, Winter, Bella, and Connor; and great-grandchildren- Zayden, Zeriah, Layton, and Declan. She also leaves her siblings Donald (Kathy) Porter, Jr. and Shelia Porter; nieces Angela Haley and Chyanne Porter; great-nephews Preston, Delton, and Kameron; dear friends Jeanie Hedger and Connie Cross; along with many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and stepson Roger Hart, Jr.
Lil was the heart of her home-welcoming, creative, and always ready with a camera, a handmade gift, or the perfect words of support. Her compassion extended to animals as well, and her home was filled with beloved pets over the years.
She will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, proud grandmother, and faithful friend whose warmth, creativity, and steady encouragement will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Roger Hart Sr. for future designation.
