Lillian Elizabeth "Lillie" Mikell

Lillian Elizabeth Mikell, 91, of Jacksonville, Florida began eternal life with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, February 26, 2026. Mrs. Mikell was born on April 18, 1934, in Jacksonville, FL, the daughter of Homer and Lillian Burke. She was a member of North Jacksonville Baptist Church. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother and a fervent prayer warrior for her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Gene Allen Mikell and by 11 brothers and sisters. Survivors include her 4 children: Pamela Edwards, Joel Mikell (Donna), Kenneth Mikell and Susan Coram (Chris); 9 grandchildren: Tracye Jennings (Daniel), Cindi McCord (Nate), Bryan Edwards (Julia), Jeremy Mikell (Cheryl), Jennifer George (Carlos), Dawn Mikell, Crystal Lee (Cameron), Kimberly Reagor (Brandon) and Austin Coram (Ashli); 23 great grandchildren: Garret, Nicole (Mason), Carson, Morgan (Derek), Alexis, Alexis Lee, Addison, Faith (Devin), Gibson, Carter, Madison, Grant, Gage, Chase, Garrison, Savannah, Colton, Lillianne, Pearson, Skylar, Everlee, Zayden, and Preston; 9 great great grandchildren (plus 2 on the way).

The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the entire third floor nursing and CNA staff of Brooks University Crossing for the love and care shown to Lillian for the last 4 ½ years and to Jennifer, Samantha and Shirley of Community Hospice for their unwavering support these last 16 months.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at North Jacksonville Baptist Church with visitation one hour prior. Rev. Chris Coram, Dr, Herb Reavis and Rev. Tim Rigdon will officiate. Burial will follow at Ferreira Cemetery.
