Lillian was born in Oklahoma to Thomas Theador Horton and Lillian Lucille Greenway and was one of 8 children. She married Oswald Arendt and had 2 children together. Their relationship turned out to be less permanent than expected, both went on to remarry. In 1979 she married the love of her life Glenn Clyde Powers.
Lil spent the majority of her life in Colorado working as a book keeper then going on to work for Continental airlines in the reservation department where she eventually retired. She and Glenn loved boating and spent every weekend at the lake where they made many memories and life long friends. Interesting that Lil chose to spend time on the water when she didn't know how to swim and was deathly afraid of the water however, she didn't let that stop her from enjoying time on their boat named "Diamon Lil" and on the dock. Because of this fear she insisted her kids and grandchildren learn how to swim.
Mom loved knitting blanket's, crocheting and crafts. She was an avid reader, had an unwavering faith in God, loved to sing and had the most beautiful voice. Her kids and grandchildren were her world. She made all of them feel special and the love she showed the family was unconditional and truly amazing.
After Mom and Glenn retired, they bought a place in Texas so they could spend more time in the warmth and avoid the Colorado winters. They made long and lasting friendships and lots of loving memories in Texas. She served on the HOA Board as treasurer. After Glenn lost his battle with Cancer in 2017 mom decided to sell their home in Colorado and move to Texas year-round.
Lil is survived by her daughter Diane Applehans, her son Ken Arendt, her Stepson Tracy Powers : along with 7 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren, Linsey, Jennifer, Justin, Cody, Josh, Katelynn, Ashton, Nicole and Eric: 10 Great-grandchildren Willow, Brair, Barrett, Rhaynee, Taite, Lilly, Eli, Hunter, Dietrick jr. and Easton:1 great-grandchild Huntley: Her sister Genevieve and her brother Gerald: Her dog (Clyde). She is preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband Glenn : 5 siblings, Wilma, JW, Johnny, Christine and Robert: 1 great-grandchild Alora Faith.
