Lillian D. Shelters, 85, of Route 374 in Cadyville, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at the UVM Health Network CVPH with family by her side. She was born in Plattsburgh on July 23, 1937, the daughter of the late Joseph and Leona (Bourassa) Roushia.
Lillian was employed for many years as a nurses aide at Sacred Heart and Meadowbrook Nursing Homes. She enjoyed gardening, going on her computer, soap operas, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children and their spouses; Pamela Meyers, Lori Minckler, Jill Shelters, Paul and Lisa Shelters, a brother; William Roushia a sister; Gladys Martin, and several grandchildren, great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Theodore Shelters in 2015, two brothers: Donald and Maynard Roushia, and a sister; Marion Roushia Simpson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 11am in the St. Brother Andre Chapel at St. Peter's Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center at CVPH.
