Lillie Irene Nowak, known by friends and family as "Sister", of Bonne Terre, Missouri was born February 2, 1937, in Irondale, Missouri, a daughter to the late Clarence Marler and Beulah (Pyatt) Marler. Lillie departed this life in her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, April 16, 2023 having reached the age of 86 years, 2 months and 14 days.
On August 13, 1960, Lillie was united in marriage to the late James Stanley Nowak and they shared 51 years together. James preceded Lillie in death on October 17, 2011.
Those left to cherish her loving memory include her sons, Michael Nowak and wife Nancy of Bonne Terre, Missouri, Aaron Nowak and wife Pam of Imperial, Missouri; daughter, Deborah Russell and husband Andrew of Bismarck, Missouri; In-laws, Jimmy Robinson, Geneva Marler, Ruth Marler; grandchildren, Amie (Michael) Bratcher, Dan Nowak, Andrea Nowak, Melanie Nowak, Lacey Nowak, Stacy (Eddie) Wakefeild, Bryan Russell, Jarod Russell; great grandchildren, Kennedy, Harper, Alex, Skylar, Benjamin, Juniper, Kaleb, Charlotte and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lillie was preceded in death by her siblings, Noman, "Monk" Marler, Bill Marler, Thelma "Cricket" Fitzgerald, Wanda Goetz, Linda "Tudy" Robinson, Helen Tally and husband Marion, Bob Marler and wife Beulah.
Lillie was blessed with an amazing artistic ability. She created many beautiful paintings and took extra time on fine details to give her paintings an extra quality. In her leisure time she enjoyed watching wrestling on TV and spending quality time with her family. She always saw the best in people and never took anyone or moment for granted. The everlasting memories she gave will continue to bring comfort to those she knew and loved.
