Lilly "Dee" LeCount, 89, of Skidmore, Texas, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025. She was born on September 6, 1936, in Beeville, Texas to James Dee Copeland and Belva "Jodie" Bryan. Lilly was a beloved, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and a friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Life was a constant rhythm, set to the tune of a steel guitar and the pulse of a dance floor. She spent countless joyful hours kicking up dust at country dances, with her beloved Roger. Dee owned several businesses in her lifetime, Dee never forgot her roots or lost her simple, down-to-earth nature. She treated everyone with respect, always had time for a chat, and believed a firm handshake was all you needed to seal a deal. She was a pillar of her community, lifelong member of the Lions Club as well as generously supporting local events and always willing to lend a helping hand.

Dee was proceeded in death by her parents, James Dee Copeland and Belva "Jodie" Bryan, her beloved husband, Roger A. LeCount, her son, William "Chucky" Black, brothers, Jerry and Oscar Copeland and sister, Faye Kates.

Dee is survived by her children, Debra Staples McDearman, Gail Staples Luna, Ronnie Dee Staples and June Staples Williams. Dee was also survived by her granddaughter, Brittany Garza, her great-granddaughter, Isabell Luna, 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

The family wants to thank Villa Northwest Assistant Living in Corpus Christi and Harbor Hospice in Portland for taking wonderful care of their dear mother and grandmother.

Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 10:00 am.
