Linda Chase, 68, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away Monday, March 31, 2025.
Linda was devoted to family and friends and went out of her way to ensure the people around her felt loved and cared for. She was a walking comedy show and never missed an opportunity to engage in crazy shenanigans. One of her most cherished nicknames was "Crazy Aunt Linda." Linda was the type of person who could turn any moment into a circus act. She'd sing songs in voices that made even the neighbors' dogs question their life choices. Her stories were like a rollercoaster-totally random, with a twist you didn't see coming. She had a joke for every situation, though half of them were so outlandish, you'd laugh just out of sheer confusion. Linda was the kind of silly that made you wonder if maybe the world would be a little less fun without her weirdness.
Linda was the shining light of every occasion. She was the embodiment of the word 'selfless'-even if it meant sacrificing her last cookie or pretending to be a dancing flamingo just to make you smile. Linda leaves behind a world that's a little less funny, but her brand of silliness still echoes in the laughter and questionable dance moves of her family. They're pretty much living proof that somewhere, Linda's still cracking jokes.
Linda is survived by her daughters: Tonya (Robert) Henning of Andover, Tammy (Bubba) Cooper of Junction City, and Tina (Jerimy) Hickman of Andale, who have each inherited her ability to turn even the most mundane tasks into comedy gold. She's also survived by her sisters, Nancy (Rex) Roberts of Perry, OK, and Sherri (Joe) Lily of Lone Oak, TX, who are probably already arguing over who gets to tell the funniest Linda story at the next family gathering. And, of course, Linda leaves behind 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and a massive crew of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom are now officially on the hook to carry on her legacy of ridiculous jokes and spontaneous dance-offs. Time to be spicy like Grandma, kiddos.
Preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Erma Booker, who undoubtedly spent their lives trying to figure out how they ended up with such a delightful troublemaker, and her sister Kathy Roberts, who probably spent half of her life rolling her eyes at Linda's shenanigans but secretly loved every minute of it.
Celebration of life will be from 1:00 - 5:00 pm, Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Wyldewood Cellars, 951 E. 119th St. S., Peck, KS 67120. Dress comfortably and bring your favorite memory!
