Linda 'Lynn' Marie Dougher of Middletown, NJ passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 79 years young.
She grew up in Elizabeth, NJ where she met the love of her life, Jay Dougher, at Rosemary's soda shop in 1960. They married in 1966 and moved to Middletown, NJ in 1968.
Lynn raised four children while taking time for family camping trips, school activities, and being a very supportive band parent during the high school years. She eventually returned to work at an optometry office for just over 30 years as a doctor's assistant. She retired to then spend time enjoying (and spoiling) her grandchildren any chance she could.
Lynn was very involved at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. In addition to her love and devotion to God and her strong faith, she washed the linens, was a member of the Altar Rosary Society as well as being a Eucharistic Minister for both the church and Riverview Medical Center hospital patients.
A lifelong NY Yankee fan from the days of listening to the games on the radio with her grandfather, we are sure she will continue to cheer for them (and yell at them) from above. But what brought her the most joy was her family. Lynn began the family tradition of hosting Sunday dinners. This became the building block to her family's strong connection to each other. Lynn and Jay filled their home with the love and laughter of their children, loved ones and ten grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Jay, children Jim (wife Colleen), Tom (wife Camber), Kim (husband John) and Diane (husband Walter). She is also survived by her ten grandchildren and her sisters, Barbara Santora and Roseann Reeves, all of whom will never forget the love she brought to their lives.
She is predeceased by her parents Edward & Rose Kuleshewsky.
Family and friends are invited to say goodbye to Lynn Friday Dec. 13 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown, NJ.
Funeral mass to be held 10:00am, Saturday Dec. 14 at St. Mary's Church, 19 Cherry Tree Farm Road, Middletown, NJ.
