Linda L. Estes, 70, of Moline, Illinois, formerly of Rock Island, Illinois, Davenport, Iowa, and Aledo, Illinois, died Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at River Crossing of Moline.
Graveside services are 10:00 a.m. Monday at Rock Island National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend should meet in the parking lot at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, at 9:15 a.m. Memorials may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
The former Linda Louise Hardisty was born August 9, 1951, in Macomb, Illinois, the daughter of Guy and Jacil (Carter) Hardisty. Her biological father, Guy, died when Linda was very young. She was raised by her mother and father, Earl Ham.
She graduated from Aledo High School in 1969 and worked as a medical lab technician for many years. She married Walter "Big Keith" Estes on November 10, 1994, in Rock Island. He died May 5, 2014.
She enjoyed playing Bingo and reading. She also was an avid softball player in her younger years and a fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears.
Linda is survived by a daughter, Randi (Tim Shannon) Schafer of Rock Island; a son, Douglas (April) Short of Davenport; step-sons, Keith (Jennipher) Estes of Rock Island, and Scott (Laura) Estes of Milan; grandchildren, Andrew and Nicholas Schafer, Dorian Short, and Bailey, Tyler, Faith and Bryant Estes; a great-granddaughter, Aaliyah Hull; sisters, Rhonda Cady of Aledo, and Brenda Hess of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Guy Hardisty, and Jacil and Earl Ham; a son at birth, Derek; and a brother, Randy Hardisty.
