Margaret “Sue” Seaberg, 87, of Riverdale, Iowa, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Senior Star Elmore Place, Davenport, Iowa, with her family by her side.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 27, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of services. Private burial will be in Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Senior Star or University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics Palliative Care Unit.

The former Margaret Suzanne Trissel was born January 9, 1938, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Nevin Albert and Margaret Vivian (Keeney) Trissel. She graduated from Davenport High School in 1956 and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Iowa. While at Iowa, she was a member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority and struck up a friendship with a fellow student and Iowa basketball player, George Howard Seaberg.

On August 29, 1961, Sue and George were married, and the couple started a life together that spanned over 64 years. Sue started her career as a teacher before devoting her time to raising their three children, Tom, Sue and Anne. In 1973, George achieved his lifelong dream and founded Seaberg Industries, with Sue as his biggest supporter. She worked alongside George as a bookkeeper at Seaberg for many years.

Sue was an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bettendorf. She was always looking for ways to help others as evidenced by around a decade of teaching GED courses in Davenport, teaching Sunday School at church, and even while at Senior Star helping collect school supplies for kids in need and volunteering at the library. She was also very talented at knitting and sewing, many would say at an artistic level. She will be remembered for her baking, especially for her candy trays at Christmas and personalized birthday treats.

She was a voracious reader, enjoyed gardening and playing the piano, and in more recent years took up watching Korean movies on television. Above all else, family was the most important thing to Sue, and she especially enjoyed updates from her grandchildren, who were her true pride and joy.

Sue is survived by her beloved husband, George Seaberg of Riverdale; three children and their spouses, Thomas and Ann Seaberg of Davenport, Sue Seaberg Sampson and Bryan Sampson of Bettendorf, and Anne and Ken Atkinson of Hillsville, Virginia; seven grandchildren, Joshua (Jessica) Seaberg, Nathanael (Amanda) Seaberg, Raena (Lucas) Nerhus, James (Priscilla) Sampson, Michael (Quinn) Sampson, and Talia Sampson, and Evan (Clare) Atkinson; and four great-grandchildren, Graham, Harrison, Parker and Elliot Nerhus. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, with whom she was close, James Nevin Trissel and Philip Albert Trissel.
