Zimmer-Westview Funeral & Cremation Care Center (Howards Grove)Linda E. Fields, age 71, passed away peacefully at her home on November 18, surrounded by her family.
She was born on September 18, 1954, in Sheboygan, the daughter of Thomas and Harriet DeVos. Linda graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1972. During high school she worked at Morningside Nursing Home and continued there until beginning her career at American Orthodontics in 1975. Over the years, Linda advanced from her start as a welder to becoming a supervisor before retiring in 2017.
On September 20, 1975, Linda married Mike Fields at Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheboygan.
Linda cherished the companionship of her Alaskan Malamutes: Mocha, Sitka, Kody, and Casey. She also enjoyed tending to her flowers, traveling with Mike, and spending time crafting and shopping with her sisters. She was well known for her kindness, generosity, and thoughtful spirit.
She is survived by her husband, Mike, with whom she recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. She is further survived by her sisters Kathy (Dick) Boldt, Judy (Rich) Hemb, Debbie (Troy Stahl) Shircel, and Christine (John) Bergman; sisters-in-law Susan (David) Kettler and Julie (David) Schlieder; brother-in-law Steven (Polly) Schmeiser, mother-in-law Pat Fields; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law Thomas Fields; sister-in-law Mary Kim Schmeiser; and brother-in-law Francis Shircel.
A Celebration of Life for Linda will be held on December 3 at Town and Country Club from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses at Aurora Medical Center in Sheboygan, Clear Sky Rehabilitation Hospital, and Sharon Richardson Community Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Linda’s name will be made to Sharon Richardson Community Hospice.
