Linda Joyce (Lyman) Haynes passed away peacefully on November 12, 2023, at the age of 75 in Debeque, Colorado with her best friend and companion Bobby Skeen close by.

Linda was born on July 21, 1948, in Monticello, Utah to Gladys Jones.

She is survived by her children, Don (Shelly), Veronica (James), and Larry (Kari). Grandchildren: Dalton, Matt, Jessiqua (Mat), Tosha (Austin), Kirstie, Alexis (Matt), Rebeka (Alex), Dustin.  Great Grandchildren: Janelle, Chloe, Cayden, Aubrey, Cash, Kolten, Louis, Tyler, Milo, Jameson, Alanna. And her sister Sharon (R.D.)

A funeral service will be held on November 18, 2023, 11:00 AM at Brown’s Funeral Home Grand Junction, CO. A celebration of life will be held July 21, 2024, in the La Sal mountains in Utah.

Linda wore many hats during her career; she loved working at the Western Grill in Moab, Utah, and enjoyed telling stories about being on ‘fire watch’ in refineries.

She was passionate about the outdoors, whether digging in the dirt trying to get flowers to grow with her grandkids or exploring the world in a 4x4, rock hounding, camping, and sightseeing. She saw something new every time she went out.

Linda grew up in La Sal where she met and dated Donald who would walk from Monticello to La Sal to see her.  They got married May 24, 1963 and raised three children into adulthood together.  Living in Grand Junction she enjoyed hanging out with friends Madolyn, Christine, Betty, and Marlyn when her kids were in school.  After moving to Moab, they spent many days in the Canyonlands exploring 4x4 trails.

She remained close friends Don even after their marriage ended.  She left Moab for the panhandle of Texas where she married Gene Gardner on March 16, 1996, in Morse Tx. You couldn't miss their house in the small town; it was surrounded by red rocks.

Her spirit of adventure was matched when she met Glen "Racehorse" Haynes at the Outlaw in Moab. They married on New Years Eve 1999 in Grand Junction and traveled to many adventures/job opportunities in various locations from Houston to Los Angeles.

After Racehorse passed away she spent time living with her kids and enjoyed watching her grandkids grow up.  She would often go out dancing and to clubs with her sister Sharon where she met Bobby Skeen.  She loved to ride on the hog with him and watch him play the drums.  She spent her final years living happily with him in De Beque, Colorado.

She was a loving companion, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
