Linda Margaret Heiser Hughes Cicalese passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 8th, 2024, after a brave two-year battle with cancer. Born in 1947, Linda was a 50-year resident of Margate, NJ where she was a well-known member of the community. Being the daughter of an Air Force pilot, she spent time growing up in many different places, often speaking fondly of her time in New Mexico and Maine. In 2021, she made the difficult decision to move to Georgia to be closer to her remaining family.
Linda was a hairdresser in Margate for over 40 years where she made many lifelong friends. When she wasn't at the hair salon, you could find her at the Barclay Avenue beach from morning to evening every summer. The beach was her happy place. She also loved gardening in her award-winning yard or relaxing on her famous front porch chatting with anyone who walked by. She didn't know a stranger and was a social butterfly. Even in her short time in Georgia, she made many great friends and was competitive in "game nights". She was loved by everyone who met her. Linda was fun, easygoing, and lived a carefree life. She was well known for her creative talents whether it was knitting/crocheting sweaters to sell at a craft show, designing "tchotchkes", fashion, decor and even painting her ceiling. She always had a project going on. She could turn anything she touched into something beautiful. She loved to reference the Italian slang word "abbondanza" meaning abundance or to live a life of plenty, it was the true essence of how she lived every day.
She is predeceased by her father, Carl Heiser, mother, Margaret (Quinney), brother, Paul, sister-in-law, Carleen, and niece, Jill. She leaves behind her legacy through her two surviving nieces, Amy Carcione and Carly Heiser-Nath (Arjun). She was adored by her 4 great-nieces and nephews, Camryn Carcione, Mia Carcione, Nicholas Carcione, and Bodhi Nath.

Dear Carly & Amy it is with great sadness that I read this obituary and write this condolence!! I had no idea that Aunt Linda passed away. I have been thinking about often but had no way to contact her and hadn´t heard from her. So I actually googled her name and found the obituary! My heart is broken. Not only was she my hairdresser for 30 years she was one of my dearest friends whom I loved very much! I will remember the many good times we spent together! May her memory be a blessing and all of you know how much she loved you all !

When I moved to Annabelle on Main, Linda became my instant friend, my best buddy. We did a lot together and I miss her so much. My love goes out to Carly and Amy and their families.
