Linda “Gail” Hogsten, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, October 10th, at the University of Tennessee Hospital in Knoxville, TN. She was born on February 27, 1945, in Morristown, TN, to Julia V. (Strange) Townsend and John D. Townsend. She was a 1963 graduate of Maury High School, in Dandridge, TN. Gail truly loved living life with her greatest joys, her three children and ten grandchildren. She loved Jesus, going to church with her son and his family, going on outings with her daughters, sister-in-law, and (raised with sister) Sue. She loved visiting her family members and spending time with all of those who loved her. She truly enjoyed sitting outside on sunny days and appreciating God’s wonderful world. Everyone with whom she came in contact was always met with a sweet smile and gentle spirit. She is survived by her daughters, Tisha (Hogsten) Brown and Teresa (Hogsten) Smith; son Eddie (Amy) Hogsten; brother John (Gail) Townsend; ten grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and many cousins, and loved ones. Family, friends, and others whose lives Gail touched are invited to the FARRAR FUNERAL HOME, 162 E. Meeting Street, Dandridge, TN, on Monday, October 16, 2023, for receiving of friends from 5:00 to 6:00 pm with a celebration of life service to follow at 6:00pm with Bro. Mike Hinkle officiating. The graveside interment service will be Tuesday, 11:00am at Lichlyter Cemetery at Lawson’s Chapel Church.
