Linda Lee Marshall, 80, of
Malvern, IA, passed away at her home on Monday, October 13, 2025.
Linda was born on August 15, 1945 in Omaha, NE, one of two children of Elton Franklin and Laura Catherine (Patterson) Clay. She graduated from the Malvern High School with the Class of 1963 and attended Wayne State College in Peru, NE for two years, receiving her Bachelor's Degree. Linda's work career began at the Kennedy Holland DeLacy & Svoboda law firm, then moved onto Peter Kiewit Sons, then to a position with the Economic Development group for the City of Omaha. She joined the Union Pacific Railroad where she was later named Railroad Woman of the Year in 2005 by the American Council of Railroad Women. In 1994 she graduated from Bellevue University with professional honors and became certified in transportation and logistics through the American Society of Transportation and Logistics, where she used this knowledge to expand her career at UP, working until her retirement.
Linda and George James Marshall, Jr. were united in marriage on May 29, 1966. They were blessed with two sons, Dirk James and George James III. The couple had been married 54 years when George passed away on August 25, 2020 in Mesquite, NV at the age of 80.

Through the years, she enjoyed trips throughout the United States, working on family genealogy and tracing ancestors back to the American Revolution, bird watching, reading, and was pursuing her dream of writing a children's book based on her mother's family life, growing up in Nebraska. Linda so enjoyed the celebration of her 80th birthday this year. Her family were her pride and joy.
