Dateline: Glenville Linda L. Moffett left this world on December 5, 2024, to once again be united with her beloved husband Daniel who had predeceased her with his passing on March 4, 2015. Born September 12, 1951, in Glens Falls N.Y. to the late James W. and Marie (Gasper) Ricketts, and sister to Jeffrey Ricketts (Diane). Linda spent most of her life in the Capital District, attending Notre Dame, and the former Linton High School.
She married "her Daniel" on a cold and blustery day, the 8th of January 1972 at St. John the Evangelist in Schenectady. It was the start of their many adventures together, and what adventures they had, through good times and bad and all times in between. As the proud mother of her "(5) Bunnies", Erin Purdy (Jack), Tara Moffett, Jill Moffett, Maureen Moffett, and Denis (Jennifer) Moffett. Linda instilled in her children the virtues of compassion, creativity, a solid work ethic and kindness to all. She was blessed with her grandchildren Matthew Purdy, Sara Purdy, Aiden Moffett, Avery Moffett and Rylan Haley. Each of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life. She cherished being an aunt to her many nieces and nephews as well as being a godmother.
Linda's professional life was marked by dedication and excellence with the Golub Corporation. Beginning her career in the Bakery Department, she moved into store management, working in the store's front office. Always looking for a new challenge, Linda went on to establish the company's first "Help Desk" creating the division from the ground up. Next, she moved on to the company's Purchasing Department where she held the position as the Lead Purchasing Agent until her retirement in 2014. Many of the fixtures and equipment used throughout the Price Chopper/Market 32 were due to Linda's keen insights into what shoppers wanted and stores needed. Due to her innovations, she was invited by corporations as far away as Norway to assess some of their equipment in development, and often provided technical assistance to various vendors.
Linda's passions extended beyond her professional achievements. She was a gifted interior decorator, whose eye for beauty and details transformed spaces into warm, inviting homes. Her love for cooking, baking and decorating cakes was not only a testament to her creative spirit but also a source of delight for family and friends who were fortunate enough to enjoy all of her culinary creations. Linda was a whiz at being the "hostess with the mostests", opening her home to friends and family alike. It didn't matter if there were 2 or 200, or a new friend that Dan had just met and invited over, Linda was on it, she would feed and welcome them all. She also believed in giving back to the community. Always willing to extend a helping hand she was involved for many years in Junior Achievement as an advisor for the program, taught religious education classes, and served on several Board of Directors including but not limited to
The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society, the Capital District YMCA, and was a member of the Capital District Women in Business.
When not volunteering or spending time at the family camp on Sacandaga Lake (Overlook). She enjoyed traveling embracing the opportunity to explore the world with Daniel or friends and family. These adventures enriched her life with experiences and stories that she cherished. Above all Linda will be remembered for her kindness and talents, too many to list.
