Linda (Rees) Pfeil, age 63 passed away peacefully at home January 31, 2023, following a courageous and toughly fought battle with cancer. Linda, born to John and Dolores Rees, the 5th of 7 children, she is survived by her soulmate and loving husband of 40 years, Michael Pfeil; her brothers, John (Linda) Rees, Ralph (Colleen) Rees and Paul (Ester) Rees, her sister Mary (Neal) Hicks; brothers-in-law, Don Morehouse, Mark (Katherine) Pfeil, Chris Pfeil and David Pfeil; sister-in-law, Kathy Pfeil; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dolores Rees of Louisville, Ohio, her brother, Joe Rees and her sister, Martha (Rees) Morehouse.
Linda was raised in Louisville, Ohio and graduated from Louisville High School, earning college credits in accounting. She worked at Buckeye Sports, Akron Truck and Tire and North Central Tire. Linda and Mike started working with his father at Pfeil Tax Service 22 years ago and subsequently took over the business in 2015. They served their clients well and became great friends with many of them.
Linda loved cooking, canning, making jelly and crafting. Linda and Mike moved to Freeport after they purchased property where they could hunt and later build their dream home. They loved hunting and fishing together and walking their property. She encouraged her brothers, brother-in-law and nephews to join them in hunting and were thrilled when they accepted. They loved to travel and planned to purchase an RV so they could explore the United States. She loved watching the butterflies that frequented their property as well as many hummingbirds that loved their feeders. As a little girl, she was lovingly referred to as "Tinkerbell and Sunshine". Her very best friend was her sister, Martha, who loved her to the moon and back. She was cherished by her family whose lives will be forever changed with her passing. We know we will join her one day in heaven and that gives us great comfort.
Because of the loving, professional care Linda and her family received through Hospice, the family requests that In lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to: Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Avenue, SW., New Philadelphia, OH 44663 Or you can donate online at www.myhospice.org
