Linda "Gail" Rief, 73, of Jackson passed away Wednesday April 24, 2024, at her home.
She was born October 8, 1950, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Gerald and Mary June Davis Platt. She and Ronald J. Rief were married on April 12, 1969. He passed away August 17, 2006.
Gail was a Jackson High School graduate. She worked for Archway Kitchen and Bath in St. Louis for 25 years. When she returned to Jackson she worked as an Administrator for the former Med Plus Healthcare and Hospice. She loved embroidery, was a yard enthusiast, enjoyed spending time out with her friends and sisters and loved her dog Gracie. Gail was a very proud and involved grandmother.
Loving survivors include two sons, Ron (Lisa) Rief of St. Louis and Rick (Melissa) Rief of Chickamauga, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Mackenzie (Chris) McArthur, Evan, Blake, Emelia, and Brennan Rief and Cam and Elynn Brown; two sisters, Sheila Cunningham and Ronda (Bill) Heaton of Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
The visitation will be from 2 – 4 pm on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
A private interment will be Monday April 29, 2024, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
The family suggests that contributions be made to Siteman Cancer Center.
