Linda Lee Schnell, age 77, of Cody, Wyoming passed away on September 26, 2024 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Billings, Montana. Linda passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family.
Linda Lee Gwinn was born to Floyd (Cotton) and Margaret (Peggy) Gwinn on October 18, 1946 in Wellington, Kansas. The Gwinn family (Cotton, Peggy, Linda, Marlayne and Jana) moved to Beloit, Kansas where the three sisters all grew up. In April of 1965, Linda married her high school sweetheart, Michael (Mike) Schnell. The Schnell's moved to Hays, Kansas where they welcomed a son, Scott and a daughter, Kristi. In August of 1970, Mike and Linda braved the unknown and moved to Wyoming for a job opportunity. Shortly thereafter they welcomed their second and youngest daughter, Juli.
Mike and Linda owned and operated Kelly Shoes from 1970 - 1986. Very often you would find the entire family working together at the shoe store. In 1986, Linda began her career with Pinnacle Bank where she made many life-long friends. Linda retired in 2006 from Pinnacle Bank and turned her focus to being a Grandma, relaxing and traveling with Mike.
Linda was an avid reader, loved old western movies, "Survivor", frogs (an entire room dedicated to), gingerbread men, and most of all... her family, who adored her. Linda was sweet and sassy, funny and kind and was a great friend to many. Linda wasn't just "mom", or "grandma", or even "great grandma", she became "Fabby G".
The matriarch of a crew that started as five and is now 25, Linda will be deeply missed. Linda is survived by her husband, Mike, her children Scott (Cathy) Schnell of Cody, Kristi (Ken) Heinrich of Cody, and Juli Hinze of Cody. Grandchildren Keisha (Jessie) Adams, Bailee Schnell, Robert Chado, Alli (Quinn) Rivera, Michael (Madison) Chado, Taryn (Tobi) Patiño, Emily Hinze, and KyaLee Schnell. Great grandchildren Aspen, Noah, Gunner, Luna, Beniah and Selah.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd (Cotton) and Margaret (Peggy) Gwinn and her beloved son-in-law Brad Hinze.
Services will be conducted on Saturday, October 5th at 11:00 am at Ballard's Funeral Home. Visitation will precede the service from 10:00 to 11:00 am.

I'm her younger cousin (Nora) and all my aunts and uncle gave me nicknames, one was Noncy Beth and, Linda always called me that. It warmed my heart because it reminded me of my aunt and uncles. Rest In Peace Linda!
