Linda Nell Shultz, 70, Macy, Indiana, passed away at 1:27 a.m. on Monday, July 28, 2025, at her daughter’s residence.
Born February 28, 1955, in Peru, Indiana, she was the daughter of Walter David and Mary Elizabeth Bowman Wilhelm. On February 14, 1976 at Parkview United Methodist Church in Peru, she was married to her high school sweetheart, George E. Shultz, and he preceded her in death on September 13, 2011. Together, they loved life a bit on the wild side as they would cruise the countryside together on their Honda Goldwing.
She was a graduate of Peru High School and retired from Burns Construction in Macy, where she worked as a receptionist.
Linda loved spending time outside next to her pool, being with her grandchildren, going out to eat or vacationing with “the girls.” She had a special love for her many canine friends over the years, and even once she opened her home to a young black “kitten,’ Mercedes…who grew into a full-sized mountain lion. In her younger years, Linda enjoyed crafting, and before her health declined, she was an active member of the Mexico First Brethren Church.
She leaves behind two children, a daughter, Lori Norman (Wes), of Macy; and a son, Jared Shultz (Jolene), LaFontaine; seven grandchildren, Alec, Layne, and Jessa Riendeau, Laython and Kolsyn Norman, and Aspen and J.D. Shultz; four brothers, Dave (Marlene) Wilhelm, Jim Wilhelm, Mike (Patsy) Wilhelm, and Mark (Karen) Wilhelm, and and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three siblings, Paul Wilhelm, Christopher Wilhelm, and Patrick Wilhelm.
Visitation will be from 3-7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2025, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the funeral home with Pastor Lorie Keck officiating.
