Linda Johnson Simmons, 66, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at her home. She was born in Orange County, NC, daughter of Alice Lane Johnson and the late Curie Terry "Buck" Johnson, Jr.
Linda loved making and watching Tik-Tok videos and shopping on Temu. She loved the Lord and enjoyed walking around Rankin Lake and having her talks with her Savior. She really enjoyed her morning coffee and reading her Bible.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her children, Jeremy Sutton (Shanna), Wendy Sutton (Richard Rhodes), and Michael Short, Jr. (Victoria); her grandchildren, Jake Sutton, Aiden Sutton, Damion Riffle, Adam Riffle (Calee), Isabella McElroy, Bailey Short, Wendy Short, Gavin Short, Makenzie Short, Michael Short, III, and Nicholas Valverde; her sisters, Terry Reel (Mike) and Sharon Green (Roger); and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Ms. Simmons will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Mount Holly Church of God, Mount Holly, NC. The family will greet guests, at the church, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the church.
