It is with both heavy and joyful hearts, the Stockwell family celebrates Linda's journey through life in this world to life eternal. Linda passed away on Friday September 6, 2024, surrounded by her loving husband and children.
Linda Stockwell was born on August 26, 1952, in Lake Charles, LA, to Vernon and Mary Lee Stodder. She graduated from LaGrange High School, where she served as head drummer for the LaGrange Gatorettes. She also attended McNeese and was a member of Phi Mu Sorority.
Linda and Tommy married in 1972 and began their life together in Houston, TX, where Linda was employed at Battelsteins as a model and sales associate.
After returning to Jennings, they began their family life where Linda dedicated her time to the early years of her children. Linda loved helping people and became employed by the State Department of Children and Family Services for several years. Her next ministry was at the Jennings American Legion Hospital as a discharge planner where she assisted many who needed help with various services.
Linda treasured the more than 52 years of marriage with her husband, Tommy. They had two children, Ryan and Sarah.
Linda loved the Lord and was a faithful and dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Jennings. She served on numerous committees, sang in the choir, and taught bible study in the Ladies Department and Adult 4 Co-Ed Department for many years.
To cherish her memory, she leaves behind her husband, Tommy Stockwell; son, Ryan (Pam) Stockwell; daughter, Sarah Stockwell; grandchildren, Jayden and Jacob Stockwell, and Alexis (Cade) Addison; great grandchild, Ryder Addison; her sisters, Sue Stodder, Roxie Stodder, and Jeannie Demarie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mrs. Linda will be held on Saturday September 14, 2024, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will resume at 12:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Jennings until the time of service.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the church, with Brother Eric Sonnier officiating. She will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery, under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
