A Celebration of Life Service will be 10 AM, Monday, November 10, 2025, at the First Baptist Church in Gore, OK.
Darlene was a devoted wife and mother. She loved her family unconditionally, and a stern look was all it took to keep them in line. A dedicated schoolteacher for over thirty years, she loved her students as if they were her own. Darlene delighted in cooking, decorating, and entertaining her family. She was saved by her Lord and Savior at the age of 15 years old which led to a life following Jesus as Sunday School teacher and song leader in her church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, J.C. Hart and wife Wanda, Doug Hart, and sisters, Velma Edwards and Lela Kathryn Hart.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Melvin Dale Thomas, sons, Raymond Thomas and Janie Ross, Nick Thomas and wife Stephanie, all of Gore OK, daughter, Keisha Clifton and husband Will, of Webbers Falls OK, one brother, Carroll "Rabbit" Hart and wife Loise, of Vian OK; one sister, Patsy Hougland and husband John, of Burnt Cabin OK; niece, Lisa Rector and Jeff Edwards and her nephew, Kenneth Wayne Conrad. Grandchildren, Wesley Thomas and wife Addie, Brandi Thomas, Allison Allison and husband Joe, Cody Thomas, Wyatt Thomas, McKenzie Catron and husband Stoney, Kane Swearingen, Harley Raskey, Lexi Raskey, Maddy Raskey, and Chase Rector; great-grandchildren Ella, Goldie, Emilia, Brantley, Baylor, Hallie, and Bella and many more nieces, nephews and too many cherished friends to count.
