The services celebrating and honoring the life of Linda Alice Wade, 77, of Enid, will be held 2:00 PM. Friday, July 25, 2025, in the Brown-Cummings Chapel. Burial will follow in the Enid Cemetery. A visitation with the family will be held 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. Thursday July 24, 2025 in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings, A life celebration home.
Linda was born July 15, 1947, to John Jr. and Hilda Butterworth in Cumberland, Rhode Island, and passed from this life July 9, 2025.
She was raised and educated in Westford, Massachusetts, graduating from Westford Academy with the class of 1964. She began working in the Women’s and Children’s Hospital while attending the Peter Bent Brigham School of Nursing in Boston, Massachusetts. After completing Nursing school, she began working as a Traveling Nurse, working in several places, including Hawaii. She moved to Enid in 1977 where she began working as a Registered Nurse at Bass Baptist Hospital, now known as Integris Enid, until her retirement in 2015. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, eating seafood, knitting and crocheting gifts and she absolutely loved spending time with her family.
She married Jerry Lee Wade on May 17, 1980, in Lincoln, Rhode Island.
She is survived by her three sons, Terry Lee Wade and wife Lisa, of Del City, Oklahoma, Jerry Lee Wade Jr. and wife Alisha, of Enid, Oklahoma, and Jason Taylor Wade, of Enid, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Glenn Butterworth and his wife Karen, of Lakeland, Florida, and Gary Butterworth and his wife Kathy, of Fort Myers, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lee Wade Sr., and her parents, John and Hilda Butterworth.
