Obituary published on Legacy.com by Walker Sanderson Funeral Home & Crematory - Orem on Dec. 7, 2023.
Linda Mae Peterson Webb, 83, passed from this life on December 2, 2023, in Lindon, UT. She was fortunate to be at peace, at home, and surrounded by family.
Linda was born June 13, 1940, in
San Mateo, CA, the third of three children and the only girl to Howard & Vida Mae Berg Peterson. She graduated from Burlingame High School, where she loved playing with the orchestra as first-chair violin and concertmistress. A highlight for the group was a performing tour through Europe.
Linda majored in Music at San Francisco State University, where she graduated in 1961.
At church in Burlingame one Sunday, Linda was introduced to Clark Webb. Thankfully, our heroine's angelic demeanor quickly helped Clark recognize that this was the girl for whom it would be - eternally - worth elevating his habits, lifestyle, and ambition. Part of his personal development included choosing to serve a 2.5-year church mission, but, as Clark was nearly 27 when called, Linda further secured his steps in the right direction by having the wedding announcements delivered to the mission field a few weeks before Clark's service had even concluded; it is reported that the mission office was amused.
Linda & Clark were married in the Salt Lake Temple on June 27, 1962, with a nod to Linda's parents, who were married in the same temple on June 27, 1929. Linda & Clark's union was blessed with five adoring (and at least partly adorable) children.
Church service was a hallmark of Linda's life, and she genuinely enjoyed her callings. For years she blessed generations of lives while working at the Utah South Area Family History Training Center in Orem, one of her most treasured experiences. Working with her ward's choir was another highlight, where she was able to share with others her love for and talent in music. Linda also contributed mightily to the character and skill sets for dozens of boys and young men, serving for years as Blazer Scout leader and, later, as Primary president. Additionally, Clark & Linda presided over the Venezuela-Caracas Mission from 1971–'74, and the friendships and love from those experiences live on.
Professionally, Linda had a distinguished career as an agent and later vice president at Murdock Travel, where she helped thousands expand their horizons and enrich their lives through one of her own favorite pastimes. (London will miss you, too, Mom!)
Linda's life was one of beautiful balance: Family trips, dinners, and music balanced with world travel with Clark (and no kids!)... Mozart, Haydn, and Beethoven balanced with Ella, Frank, and Mel Giants, Cubs, and Yankees baseball balanced with BYU football and basketball Reading fiction and enjoying musicals balanced with loving her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents and her two beloved brothers, Bob and Grant. She is survived by her husband, Clark, and children Dave (Berta) Webb, Cindy (Scott) Hill, Phil (Susie) Webb, Paul (Jackie) Webb, and Amanda (Kennie) Williams, with 19 grandchildren and 11.95 great-grandchildren.
Linda had an unwavering testimony of her Savior, Jesus Christ, and of the plan of salvation. We take comfort in the awareness that we'll be with her again one day.
