Linda J. Wiland, age 73, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend passed away on March 29, 2024. Linda, affectionately known as Meema, was born on December 16, 1950, to Howard and June Burke in Defiance, Ohio.
Linda was a devoted wife to her late husband, Dexter R. Wiland, with whom she shared an amazing marriage of over 44 years. Together, they navigated life's journey with love, laughter, and unwavering support for each other until Dexter's passing.
Family was the cornerstone of Linda's life, she found immense joy and fulfillment in raising her four children: Tina, Sarah (Ryan), Julia (Jason), and Rich (Jane). Linda spent treasured moments with her children, instilling in them values of compassion, kindness, and resilience.
Linda is survived by her brother, Tom (Tish) Burke, along with several nieces, whom she loved dearly.
Linda's greatest pride and joy were her seven grandchildren: Dylan, Gavin, Addison, Reagan, Josie, Lilly, and Reed. Meema cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, celebrating their milestones, and showering them with unconditional love and affection.
Throughout her life, Linda touched the hearts of all who knew her with her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love. Her smile lit up the room, and she was known to be a card shark, relishing every game she played. Linda was the first one on the dance floor and the last one to leave, bringing joy and energy wherever she went. She loved fiercely and made everyone feel special, her compassionate spirit leaving an enduring warmth on all who crossed her path.
There was never a stranger she hadn't met, and she embraced each person she encountered with open arms and a genuine smile. Linda was a proud member of various communities throughout her life, including those in Defiance, Kent, and Fiddlesticks. She found great joy in participating in groups such as the Lunch Bunch, Garden Club, and Bible Babes where she cultivated lasting friendships.
Linda's legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved, leaving behind a profound impact on the lives she touched.
