Linda Williams Worthey

SHELBY- Linda Williams Worthey Navey Worthey, affectionately known as Linda, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on April 6, 2025, in Cleveland County, North Carolina. Born on March 18, 1943, in Hall County, Georgia, Linda lived a full and vibrant life of 82 years.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, Dock Williams; mother, Mary Lou O'Dell Williams; two husbands, Gerald Navey and Daniel Worthey Sr.; brothers, Donald, Lonnie, Johnnie, Larry, and Marvin Williams; and sister, Dot Brown.
She is survived by her cherished family: three devoted daughters, Janice Fowler and husband Mike of Shelby, Lori Coleman and husband Hayne of Shelby, and Dawn Cash and husband Adam of Mt. Juliet, TN; and her loving son, Sean Navey and wife Andrea of Grover. Her dear sister, Rebecca Licht, also survives her.
Linda was blessed with nine grandchildren who brought great joy to her life: Destiny Eggleston, Wesley Fowler, Robert Hawkins, Russell Barnes, Linda Gilroy, Matthew Navey and fiancée Tara, AJ Cash, Tyler Cash, and Kylie Hutchinson. She adored her 11 great-grandchildren: Gabe, Kyra, and Jaxson Eggleston; Jordan and Makenzie Fowler; Katie and Audrey Hawkins; Laurie Gordon; Minnie Rector; Jeremiah Bolin; and TJ Navey, as well as several great-great-grandchildren.
Linda retired from J&C Dye and later shared her warm spirit with guests at the Hampton Inn in Gastonia. In her leisure time, she loved to indulge in reading, taking peaceful naps, and visiting friends at the Two Kings.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, with Pastor Keith Navey officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Sunset Cemetery.
Linda's gentle soul, kind heart, and unwavering love for her family and friends will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
