Wilson – Private Services for Mr. Lindle Keith Flatt, Sr., 84 of Wilson are scheduled with Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson. Interment services will be at Hewitt Cemetery with Military Honors.
Lindle was born on Jan. 21, 1940, at Ada to the late Mr. Elmer Lenny Flatt and Mrs. Claudia (Abbott) Flatt. He departed from this life on Monday morning April 29, 2024 at his home in Wilson.
Lindle was raised in Oklahoma. He left there to serve in the U.S. Air Force, completing a nine-month course in Russian and spending half of his eight-year period service in the Far East. On his return to the States, he married the former Elizabeth Jean "Betty" Kantorski on April 28, 1965 at Frances, Ok and began his oil field career, which would lead him to travel extensively around the continental United Sates as well a Angola for a brief period. The isolation of offshore oil rigs afforded Mr. Flatt the time to investigate the age-old knowledge handed down by sages of many cultures, which he used in writing his first book, The Eighth Day. He and Betty enjoyed racing their quarter horses and vacationing in Monterey California as well as gold prospecting in the Sonoran Desert and Alaska.
Preceding him in death are his parents; sisters, Melva Caudle, Aloma Stinson and Brenda Shaw.
Survivors include his loving wife Betty of the home; daughters, Linda Nance of Wilson and Dr. Elizabeth Cole and husband Preston of Sulphur; sons, Lindle Flatt, Jr. and wife Anna of Dickson, Scott Flatt and wife Mandy of North Aurora, IL and Keith Flatt and wife Lisa of Davis; sister in law, Patricia Pellerin of Wilson; grandchildren, Lindle Keith, III, Warren, Wyatt, Parker, Jonah, Jude, Jayke, Haven, Marley, Ava Lin, Rylie and Reagan Rose; 4 great grandchildren, Lindle Keith IV, Leo Vander, Layklin and Langston, with one more on the way.
Casket Bearers are family.
