Lindsey grew up in Lynn, MA and was one of five children in his family. At an early age, Lindsey displayed a passion for Duke, the family's brown and white painted horse. On. July 2, 1950, Lindsey married his soulmate and love of his love, Jean Bowley, whom he shared 75 years of marriage with. They were blessed with 5 children and raised them in Lynn. Professionally, Lindsey was employed for 48 years for the Archdiocese of Boston in their cemetery division digging gravesites. To earn extra spending money for the family, he worked several side jobs including work at a gas station and cleaning banks. Lindsey worked full time until the age of 92, and following his retirement, he continued working at Market Basket.
Family was the most important aspect of Lindsey's life, and to those who knew him closest cherished his jokester and teasing personality. His hobbies included camping, traveling, and especially visits to Nova Scotia to visit relatives.
In addition to his parents, Lindsey was predeceased by a daughter, Lorraine Reardon, and three siblings, Adeline, James and Irene.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Jean Cunningham, daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Jack Wall, son and daughter-in-law, Lindsey and Bette Cunningham Jr., son and daughter-in-law, James and Janet Cunningham, daughter and son-in0law, Barbara and Keith George, his brother, William Cunningham, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and generations of nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter, NH.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Kingston, NH.
Flowers are acceptable, or donations may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
