Lisa Ann Auter was born on June 16, 1965, in Danville, Illinois, to Matilda Wyer. Matilda, in a selfless act of love, made the brave decision to place Lisa for adoption, hoping her daughter would have a life filled with opportunity and love. Lisa was welcomed into the hearts and home of Dorothy "Dot" Auter and Chester Earl Auter, who went to great lengths to provide her with the happy and nurturing childhood she deserved. Their unwavering love and dedication provided Lisa with a foundation of strength, compassion, and resilience that would shape her life.
Lisa grew up with a sense of independence and determination, which she carried through a 25-year career in nursing. Known for her dedication, she took on numerous roles throughout her career, serving patients with compassion and strength in many areas of healthcare. Nursing was a calling that suited her perfectly, allowing her to help others while embracing her adventurous spirit.
Lisa's family was her world. She leaves behind her children, Amber, Aubrey, and Adam, as well as her beloved grandchildren: Irelynn, Waylon, Lincoln, Alison, Judah, and Eden. As a mother and grandmother, she was deeply devoted, even if she had a style all her own. Lisa was a bit like a prickly pear--rough around the edges, but those who knew her well understood that, deep down, she was as sweet as they come, with a heart that came through when it mattered most.
In her free time, Lisa loved to sing along to Elvis, travel, and spend time in her kitchen, where she was famous for her Southern cooking. Her sweet tea was the stuff of legends, and she knew how to create warmth and comfort for those around her, whether through her cooking or her company. Lisa also had a soft spot for cats, filling her home with their companionship.
Though Lisa may have been hard to love at times, she was truly unforgettable. Her spirit, resilience, and the memories she left behind will forever fill the hearts of those lucky enough to have known her.
Lisa's family will gather to honor her memory on November 1, 2024, at Myers Mortuary in Ogden, Utah, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The family would appreciate donations to help with the funeral expenses, if you would like to donate please click on the donation tab at the top of the obituary page, thank you.
We want to give a special Thank You to everyone that has donated to and/or shared her gofundme page to help with the costs of her cremation services.
There really are no words to express our gratitude for your friendship and kindness and continued help in this tragic time for our family. This came as an extreme shock to us as she was very young and healthy from what we understood. This is just a reminder that we do not have tomorrow and to hold your loved ones a little closer and tell those you love today.
