Lisa Kay (Sorley) Davis, 63, of Brownstown, IN passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour. She was born on April 26, 1959, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Richard Allen and Emma (Anderson) Sorley Riffe. She married Duane Davis on August 31, 1978, in Red Brush Park and he survives.
In addition to her husband Duane, Lisa is survived by her two children, Greg (Lisa) Davis of Brownstown and Carol (Sean) Rice of Fernandina Beach, FL. In addition to her husband and children she is also survived by four grandchildren, Jayse, Miles, and Clifford Davis and Mitchell Reynolds. She is survived by one brother, Curtis (Cynthia) Sorley; one sister, Teri (Cliff) Larsh; one sister-in-law, Robin Sorley; Anne Engelhardt of Jena, Germany who lived with Lisa and Duane as an exchange student; and their God Daughter, Tara Lou Calloway of Pekin, IN, and many loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Tom Sorley.
Lisa was a member of the Brownstown Christian Church where she served in countless ministries. She was a member of the REC ministry which serves people who are incarcerated, was part of the Celebrate Recovery ministry to those in recovery. She also enjoyed Toastmasters. She served at The Alley Church in Seymour where she helped minister to those who were in need and served in the women's and children's groups at Brownstown Christian Church. When she wasn't helping others Lisa enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She enjoyed her time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, taking pictures of the birds and the sky and watching the International Space Station fly over. She will always be remembered for her cookies that she would bake at Christmas for the family and neighbors.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the Brownstown Christian Church with Mitchell McIntyre officiating. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Acme. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Brownstown Christian Church and from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Wednesday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Brownstown Christian Church Library or to the REC program.

I have such fond memories of Lisa. We both had babies around the same time and Greg & Bailee played together when we all lived in Florida. She was a great mother, wife and compassionate friend to all. She will be missed.
