Obituary published on Legacy.com by Shuda Funeral Chapel - Stevens Point on Oct. 1, 2025.
Lisa Ann Eriksen was born January 29, 1957 in West Bend, WI, to parents Leif and Jean Eriksen. She died on July 9, 2025 in
Stevens Point, WI at the age of 68.
She leaves behind her two brothers, three beloved daughters, their partners, and five beautiful grandchildren who were her life.
A world traveler and a teacher, Lisa lived and taught first grade in the Philippines for 3 years at Brent International School in Subic Bay, where she made many lasting friendships and went on many adventures. She continued her teaching career for the past 11 years as an ELL teacher in the elementary schools in
Stevens Point, WI. Her creative and passionate teaching style helped many children improve their reading and "Ms. E's" classroom was a popular place for her students to spend time. Lisa was always full of joy as she talked about "my kids" and all of the class projects she had planned, and she would go out of her way to make sure they were supported in their learning. She loved to create joy wherever she went and was known at school for her crazy socks and her fun, unique earrings.
Though she earned her teaching degree later in life, her passion for teaching was evident in the lives of her three kids, whom she homeschooled. Her creativity flowed through everything she did. From her fun interactive projects, unique cartoon drawings, and hands-on adventures, she made learning fun.
Besides traveling and teaching, Lisa loved music. You always knew when she arrived because you could hear one of her favorite 70s bands blaring from the speakers of her car. She played piano and guitar and wrote over 100 songs, even recording her own album, "Rest in Me."
In her free time she loved to bike, swim, cross country ski, color, read, diamond paint, and visit with friends and family. Traveling was her passion and she visited and lived in many amazing places, both in the U.S. and abroad.
Her biggest love started at the age of 21, when she became a Christian. Her love for Jesus shone in her many written songs and in the kindness that flowed through her to others. She loved God and others with her whole heart. Although we will miss her, we know that she is resting in the arms of her Jesus.
"Hold me close, my dear Lord Jesus
Help me please to always know
That you'll always live within me and you'll never let me go"
~ A verse from "My Dear Lord Jesus", written by Lisa in 1988
