Lisa Ann Hackworth, nee Story, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully from natural causes on May 31, 2025, at the age of 64 in
Odessa, TX. Born on April 20, 1961, in Midland, Texas, Lisa was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend whose gentle presence was a comfort to all who knew her.
Lisa was a loving figure at the heart of a large and vibrant family. She was a dedicated mother to her eight children: Leigh Ann (Ron) Overton, Ellie (Noe) Marichalar, Chastity (Curtis) Robertson, Kitty (John) Cockrell, Chloe, Noee, John and Isaiah Hackworth. Her life was further blessed with 29 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy and laughter. Lisa's brother, Kevin (Lisa) Story, and sister, Katrina Story, fondly remember her loving spirit and cherish the memories they shared. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, her parents, and one grandchild, whose memory she held close to her heart.
Lisa's faith played a central role in her life as an avid follower of Messianic Judaism. Her unwavering belief provided her with strength and solace and was a source of inspiration to her family and friends. She carried her faith with the same grace and composure that defined her character.
A woman of eclectic interests, Lisa found beauty and pleasure in the simplicity of life. She was an animal lover, especially adoring her cats and dogs, who were her constant companions. Lisa had a deep appreciation for nature and could often be found enjoying the tranquility of the outdoors. Her love for music was vast, as it filled her home with melodies that matched the rhythm of her heart. An ardent coffee lover, she relished the warmth and comfort of a well-brewed cup, often enjoying it in the quiet hours of the morning.
Lisa was a private person who cherished the peace of a very quiet life. She held a special place in her heart for her mother and expressed her love for her family in countless, indelible ways. She lived her life with a profound gentleness that was as impactful as it was unassuming.
Although Lisa's formal education did not culminate in a degree, her wisdom and insight were evident to all who engaged with her. Her understanding of the world around her and the depth of her empathy were true testaments to her intelligence and intuition.
The color purple, symbolic of royalty and spirituality, was Lisa's favorite, reflecting the depth of her character and the richness of her spirit. Her home was often adorned with shades of this hue, creating an atmosphere of calm and dignity.
Lisa's legacy is one of love, faith, and gentle kindness. To be in her presence was to know the warmth of unconditional love and the strength of quiet conviction. As we bid farewell to Lisa Ann Hackworth, we honor a life lived with purpose and grace, a life that will continue to inspire and guide us in the days to come.
