Lisa Beth Hockersmith

Lisa Beth Hockersmith was born on October 18, 1980, in Tacoma, Washington, to parents Doug and Donna Hogeberg from Gig Harbor, Washington. She passed away on April 4, 2025 at the age of 44 due to Colon Cancer.
Lisa grew up in Gig Harbor and graduated from Gig Harbor High School. She attended Pacific Lutheran University and graduated with a degree in General Education. She completed her Master's degree and enjoyed a career as an educator. She loved teaching math and science, and over her career taught students from 5th grade through 9th grade. She also served a year as an adult advisor for the Sault Area Middle School Robotics team.
Lisa loved camping, cooking, youth hockey, long road trips, family game night, building Lego villages, making and listening to music, canning, crafting, photography and decorating for Christmas.
Lisa loved her family and is survived by her husband of 17 years, Scott Hockersmith; sons, Byron (15) and Cameron (10) of Sault Ste Marie, Michigan; mother, Donna Hogeberg of Lakebay, Washington; two brothers, Christopher Hogeberg (wife Holly Robinson-Hogeberg) of Gig Harbor, and Erik Hogeberg (wife Hannah Hogeberg) of Graham, Washington; three nephews, Aaron, Olin and Jonathan Hogeberg of Gig Harbor; two nieces, Raegan and Madison Hogeberg of Graham; grandmother, Johanna Langlow of Tacoma; and cousins, friends and kindred "sisters" all around the country.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the Bethel Lutheran Church, 217 M-129, Cedarville, MI 49719, at 1:00 PM. Refreshments and a slideshow will follow immediately in the fellowship hall. The service will also be livestreamed on the church's Facebook page at 1:00 PM.
Any memorial money collected will be donated to a Youth Hockey scholarship
