Lisa Dawn Leatherwood, 62, of Iuka, Mississippi, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Cornerstone Health and Rehabilitation Center. Lisa was born on May 2, 1963, in Memphis, TN, to Juanita Dawn and Leonard Cleatus “Chuck” Leatherwood. Although she moved to Iuka in 2009, she was always a Memphian through and through. Her home was decorated with beautiful pictures of the bridge and landmarks, and while living in the area, she’d often go to the park to just watch the Mississippi River flow and clear her mind or enjoy a peaceful moment. Lisa had a deep love for cats and collected cat themed items and décor. Along with that collection, she also had a pretty extensive assortment of Beanie Babies. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially when they got to go out for Mexican food. Lisa is survived by her niece, nephews, great-niece, and sister-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents, Juanita and Chuck Leatherwood; and her siblings, Anne Miller, Michael Leatherwood, and Kay Leatherwood. Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS, is entrusted with the arrangements. The family will be holding a memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Lisa’s honor to your local animal shelter or to the American Cancer Society. An online guestbook may be accessed at www.cutshallfuneralhome.com.
