Lisa J. Ranck, 68, of Milesburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 13, 2025. Born on April 14, 1956, in Schuylkill County, she was the daughter of the late Michael A. and Anna M. (Metzinger) Pleva.
Lisa was a 1978 graduate of Shenandoah Valley Junior Senior High School and earned a BA in Social Sciences from Lock Haven University in 1978. She recently retired as a cook for the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity at Penn State. Before that, she was a cook at the Day Bridge Child Development Center.
Lisa was baptized into the Catholic faith. She enjoyed going for long motor cycle rides, gardening, and cooking, especially "Porky Pine Balls". She loved to sit on her porch with a good cup of coffee, listing to her windchimes. She looked forward to her trips to the beach and doing nothing special but sit in the sand and watch the waves come in.
Some will say that Lisa "ruled the roost". She was a take charge person and would tell you how things were. She had her way and that was the way it was to be. But everyone loved her for her honesty and enjoyed spending time with her.
There were a lot of things special to Lisa, but nothing meant more to her than her grandson. He was her everything. She was so proud of him and his accomplishments.
Lisa is survived by her son, Jay H. Ranck III (Cheyenne) of Milesburg, one grandson, Ty M. Ranck of Moshannon, Ty's mother, who was more like a daughter to Lisa, Nichole McClellan,(Adonis Ward) of Moshannon, best friends, Gelinda and Bernie, her dog, Stella. She is also survived by numerous family members and friends that were close to her heart.
Along with her parents, Lisa was preceded in death by many loved ones over the years and by her dog, Ruby.
Following Lisa's wishes, there will be no services, and the burial will be private.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, Inc in Milesburg, PA. An online guest book can be signed or condolences to the family available at www.daughenbaughfuneralhome.com.
