Masardis- It is with heavy hearts that the family of Lisa Sherman, 72, announces her passing on July 11, 2025. She was surrounded by immense love from her closest friends and family. It is difficult to put into words just how special she was and how missed she'll be.
Lisa was a true nature enthusiast. She deeply loved animals and had such a green thumb. She had an uncanny memory. You couldn't help but notice how uniquely smart she was. She loved music and could usually name the song, the artist, and the album. Her dry sense of humor and love of dark beer were also a big part of her charm.
Her pride and joy came from raising her two daughters, Jennifer and Caitlin. She was the true "Mother Nature". She was married to her husband, Scott, for 42 years. They shared a love for the northern Maine life and built a thriving logging business together. Their favorite memories were at the river camp or out on the boat on Scopan Lake, just relaxing. She loved having her son-in-law, Bill, as part of the family. They had a very special bond.
Lisa's friendship was true and loyal. She always looked forward to trips and get-togethers with her "B-A Tribe" and her other close friends, you know who you are. Lisa was the kind of person you could just pick right up where you left off.
She truly loved her job at North Maine Woods, where she had many roles over the years. Her favorite was right on the Aroostook River, where she made many friends working at the Oxbow Checkpoint. She worked at the office in Ashland right until the last year of her life. Lisa truly was a one-of-a-kind, beautiful soul. So as not to forget anyone, we will say that she touched many hearts and will always hold a special place there.
A big thank you to the caring folks at the Northern Light Lafayette Cancer Center, Maine Medical Center, and, of course, The Aroostook House of Comfort during her last days. The County is blessed to have a place like that during such difficult times.
A celebration of her life will be held at the Masardis Town Hall, 26 School St, Masardis, ME at 4 pm on Saturday, July 26, 2025. As Lisa was an avid reader, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ashland Public Library, 57 Exchange St, Ashland, ME, 04732.
