Sawyer - Michael Charles Sherman, 62, passed away July 13, 2025 at his home. He was born June 13, 1963 in Salina, KS, to James Weber and Beverly (Callabresi) Sherman.
Michael graduated from Solomon High School in 1981. From 1982 - 2002, he worked as a ranch hand on many ranch's in Kansas, Idaho, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oregon and Wyoming. Michael was a USDA Wildlife Specialist from 2002 - 2022, where he traveled across the United States working on numerous special projects, including one of his favorites, trapping fox in Alaska. After he left USDA, he was an equipment operator in Wyoming and Idaho. He then drove truck for Kanza Coop. He enjoyed forging, gunsmithing, hunting, trapping, fishing, flying, traveling, hiking, playing in the mountains, writing in his journals, story telling, and being with his family and friends.
He is survived by his children, Cody James Sherman of Salina, KS, Latigo Michael Sherman of Hayes Center, NE, Sage Trilby (Rocky Robinson) Sherman of Sawyer, KS, Tanner Eugene Sherman of Kaneohe Bay (Marine Corps Base), HI,; sisters, Georgia MacGregor and Diana (Aaron) Adams; brother, Colt (Terri) Sherman; and grandchild, Abigail Gowett.
Michael is preceded in death by his Father, James Weber Sherman; Mother, Beverly June Sherman.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Wyoming state Trappers Association and mailed to Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Rd., Pratt, Kansas. 67124 Online condolences may be made at www.larrisonmortuary.com.
