Liu-Quan Wang

Liu-Quan Wang passed away at his home in Troy, Michigan, on December 12, 2025, at the age of 79, after a long battle with cancer. He was born on June 20, 1946, in Wuxi, China.

Liu-Quan emigrated to the US in 1981, with limited resources but tremendous determination and intellect. He earned his PhD in Physics from the University of Delaware, while bringing his wife, Xiao Lin, and young son, Bruce, to the States, moving to Buffalo, NY, where he and his wife had their daughter, Lisa. He moved the family to Michigan to conduct research at Wayne State University, then pursued his dream of starting his own company, Wangda Advanced International Trading Company, or Wangda Corp for short, which he ran successfully for many years. This allowed him to purchase the family home in Troy, which the family has lived in for over 35 years. In his free time, he loved gardening and growing vegetables. He enjoyed swimming and taking walks. His love of food, both eating and cooking, was legendary. His signature dishes included the famous táng c' pái gu which was remembered by all who tried it, mán tou and bao zi all made from scratch and with love and care.
