Liza Lipkina Obituary

Liza Lipkina (née Elkina), 81, of Bedminster, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 11, 2025.

Liza was born on September 15, 1944, in Khabarovsk, USSR. In 1949, she moved with her parents and sister to Kyiv, Ukraine, where she spent most of her life before immigrating to the United States in 1991.

In Kyiv, Liza dedicated many years to teaching home economics, sharing her knowledge of sewing, cooking, and needlework with generations of young students. After moving to the U.S., she continued to pursue her love of craftsmanship and style, working for 19 years in the alteration department at Neiman Marcus, one of the country’s most distinguished fashion retailers.

Liza had an extraordinary passion for fashion and design, with a creative touch for knitting, crocheting, and all things artistic. She was also an exceptional cook and baker — no recipe was ever too challenging for her. Yet above all, her greatest love and pride was her family. She was the most devoted wife, a wonderful mother and aunt, and an adoring grandmother — her grandkids will forever remember her as their beloved Babulya.

She is survived by her husband, Edik; her daughter, Irina Dolgonos, and son-in-law, Michael; her cherished grandchildren, Alex Dolgonos (Beth Archer) and Dina Dolgonos; and her great-grandsons, Adrian and Sebastian. She is also survived by her sister, Marina Elkina.

Liza’s warmth, creativity, and boundless love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, October 16th, 12 noon, at Beth Abraham Cemetery, East Brunswick. Arrangements are by The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. You may sign the online condolence “guestbook” at www.crabiel.com
