Mr. Lloyd Chester "L.C." Manley, 79, of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, and formerly of Tillery, North Carolina, transitioned on March 30, 2024.
Lloyd Chester Manley, of Rocky Mount, NC passed away peacefully on March 30, 2024 at the age of 79 years young joining his parents Russell Manley and Thelma Boone Manley.
He was born January 13, 1945 in North Hampton County. His parents later moved to Tillery, NC with him and his siblings. He loved playing pool, driving fast, racing and working on cars. He enjoyed listening to old school music and gospel tunes, by Shirley Caesar being a favorite. He was a jack of all trades who cherished conversation and making people laugh. He was a faithful member of Word Tabernacle Church.
Lloyd Chester Manley was married to Geneva Reynolds of the Slashes Community in Halifax, NC and from their union came Terri Manley, William Manley, Robin Manley (deceased) and David Manley. He also leaves to cherish his children Derrick Hale and Michael Hale. Also, his sister Mildred (James) Wilson, Marilyn Manley (deceased); Beloved grandchildren, Jordan (Amber) Manley, Jessica Manley, Jasmyne Williams, Jerika (Deondre) Cooper, Chantia Manley, Kevon Randolph, Jyronn Brinkley, Josiah Manley, and Rueben Manley; Seven great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, family and friends; His longtime friend, Charlie "Randy" Reynolds.
The family expresses gratitude for the condolences and support during this difficult time. Lloyd Chester will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
A Visitation for Mr. Manley will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024 beginning at 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the Rocky Mount chapel of H.D. Pope Funeral Home located at 325 Nash Street in Rocky Mount, NC. Funeral services will follow the visitation beginning at 2:00 pm. The interment will be held at a later date at the Manley Family Cemetery in Tillery, North Carolina.
