Sawyer, Lloyd of Fenton, Missouri, was born September 8, 1936 in Burfordville, Missouri to Steven and Meta (nee Peters) Sawyer and entered into rest Tuesday, October 14, 2025 in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 89 years.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Moonyean (nee Szofran) Sawyer, to whom he was devoted beyond measure. He lovingly stood by her side through every stage of her battle with Alzheimer's, caring for her with unwavering patience, tenderness, and devotion until her passing He is also preceded by his parents, Steven and Meta (nee Peters) Sawyer, and his siblings, Robert Sawyer, Truman Sawyer, Irene Grindstaff, and Lorene Talley.
He is survived by his children, Diane (Steve) Raglin, Denise Sansocie, Dottye Conrad, and Donna (Ronnie) Butler; nine (9) grandchildren, twenty-four (24) great-grandchildren; one (1) great-great grandchild; along with numerous other extended family and friends.
Lloyd Sawyer lived a life deeply rooted in the things he loved most-family, the outdoors, and hard work. He had a true passion for fishing, boating, and hunting. Lloyd had a natural knack for fixing things and took great pride in his work, whether it was on the farm or around the home. Lloyd's greatest joy came from his family. He was a proud and devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, and his legacy of love and strength will live on through each of them. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 20, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Martin UCC Cemetery in High Ridge, Missouri.
