Loanna Nysetvold Wagstrom, 95, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023, at Eventide Nursing Home, Fargo, ND.
Loanna was born on February 16, 1928, to Ole and Mina (Aasgaard) Nysetvold, in Twin Valley, MN. She grew up in Twin Valley where she attended and graduated from Twin Valley High School. She then attended Concordia College for one year before marrying her Twin Valley sweetheart, Wayne Wagstrom, on August 8, 1948, in Twin Valley at Zion Lutheran Church. Loanna and Wayne resided in Moorhead, MN, for their entire lives where they raised their five children.
After raising her kids, Loanna attended Moorhead State University where she earned her master’s degree in School Psychology. She began her career with Lake Agassiz Education Co-Operative as a school psychologist, retiring at the age of 70. She then worked as a communication staff member at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN.
Loanna enjoyed traveling extensively with Wayne which included a trip around the world. She enjoyed bicycling and took a trip across the state of Minnesota. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Loanna is survived by her children, Gwen (Mark) Halaas, Craig Wagstrom, Ann (Dave) Lindner, Thor (Rikki) Wagstrom, and Rolf Wagstrom; grandchildren, Per (Emily) Halaas, Liv (Andrew) Halaas Detwiler, Erik (Mallory) Halaas, Solvi Wagstrom, Soren Wagstrom, and Ingrid Wagstrom; great-grandchildren, Anelise and Adrian Detwiler, Bror and Loanna Halaas, Casper and Wallace Halaas, Phillip, Jacob, William, and Julia Lindner, Corbin and Arissa Manley; siblings, Judy Pfaff and Dorothy (Bob) Hammer; and many other loving relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Wayne; parents, Ole and Mina; and her siblings, Gladys Heiberg, Miles Nysetvold, Orwin Nysetvold, Iona Kvenvolden, Paul Nysetvold, Arnt Nysetvold, and Enid Burkholder.
Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., followed by the memorial service at 11:00 A.M., Friday, October 27, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN. A livestream of the service will be available at www.wrightfuneral.com where a guestbook and video tribute may also be found. Burial will take place at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Twin Valley, MN, on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 10:00 A.M.
