Loc Linh Tang, age 62, a wonderful loving husband and father, passed away in Streamwood, Illinois on July 18, 2024 peacefully in his home with his wife and four of his children by his side. He was diagnosed with liver cancer and fought hard until he left this world.
Loc was born in Can Tho, Vietnam on Dec 24, 1961 to Tang Luong and Ngu Tai, the youngest out of 10 children. He left Vietnam for America in 1985 in the aftermath of the North and South Vietnam war. While traveling to America he met his wife Kim in the Phillipines and they were married in 1986. Loc worked at Great Bend Packing Co. in Great Bend, Kansas for 15 years, during which time they had 4 beautiful children – Ho, Lieu, Ly, and Hung. In 2001 he packed up and moved the whole family to Streamwood, Illinois where he worked as a nail technician alongside his wife.
Loc loved his family more than anything, and making sure they were taken care of was always his number one priority. In addition to finding new ways to make his family's lives easier through tinkering with his tools, anyone who knew him knew that he was passionate about finding the best Vietnamese food he could find and sharing it with his loved ones. He enjoyed playing with his grandkids, collecting watches, and helping out around the house. Loc also loved camping, fishing, doing yard work, and tinkering in his tool shed.
Loc is survived by the love of his life Kim, his four loving children Ho (Jaclyn) Tang, Lieu (Ian) Erickson, Ly Tang, and Hung (Ashley) Tang, and his three beautiful grandchildren Jayden, Asher, and Kai, along with countless other siblings, in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service, which will be held on August 24, 2024 at 10:30am at St Patrick's Catholic Church (Downtown), 400 Cedar Street, St Charles, IL 60174. There will be a luncheon afterwards at 1pm at the Tang family home.
