Logan Dawn Harrel, 23-year-old Vinita resident, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024, in Foyil. She was born on July 12, 2001, in Tulsa to Deric Alan Harrel and Kimberly Dawn (Guthrie) Harrel. Logan was a graduate of Vinita High School in 2019, she was a cheerleader and very active in other school activities. She served her country in the United States Army from 2019-2023, serving 6 months in Kuwait during her time of service. Logan was currently a student at Rogers State College in Claremore, where she was studying elementary education, and was a cheerleader. Logan enjoyed being with her family, going shopping, wearing her Crocs, and teaching and assisting other cheerleaders in the area. She would also volunteer at times for the Vinita Daily Journal.
Those that preceded her in death include her great grandmother, Jonnie Hensley, grandmother, Eula Harrel, grandfather, Terry Guthrie, and other family members.
The surviving family includes her parents, mother, Kimberly Dawn Harrel of Vinita, father Deric Harrel, step mother, Margaret Harrel of Chelsea, grandmother, Deborah Guthrie of Big Cabin, brothers, Kyle Harrel of Tacoma, Washington, Ian Harrel of Vinita, sister, Jasmine Harrel of Cleora, two nieces, Macy and Paige Harrel, her cat "Nut", numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends.
The celebration of life and military rites will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the Vinita High School Gymnasium at 10:00 a.m. Online condolences may be made at www.highsmithfh.com or on the funeral home Facebook page. Arrangements are in the care of the Burckhalter-Highsmith Funeral and Cremation Services of Vinita. "Vinita's only locally owned and operated funeral home."
