Lois Irene Barnes

LANCASTER, S.C. - Mrs. Lois Irene White Barnes, 84, of Lancaster, widow of Alton Leo Barnes Sr., passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at her home.
She was born April 29, 1941, in Amarillo, Texas, a daughter of the late Emmitt White and Helen Gamble White. Mrs. Barnes was a member of Christian Life Church. She was a nursery owner for over 43 years, and she loved each child like they were her own. Mrs. Barnes loved God, her church, her family and especially her grandkids and great-grandkids. She was a prayer warrior and loved working in her yard with her flowers.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Barnes will be held Friday, August 22, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Christian Life Church – Rock Hill with the Rev. Ed Gann officiating. Entombment will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Mrs. Barnes is survived by a son, Alton Leo Barnes Jr. of Lancaster; two daughters, Anita B. Moree and Tina B. Kee (Bennie) all of Heath Springs; a sister, Frances Little of Amarillo, Texas; four grandchildren, Samuel Alton Moree (Kelly), Blise Gainey (John), Kayla Kee (Mike) and Haley Potter (Dylan); and 10 great-grandchildren, Lauren Leann Moree (Jordan), Natalie Faith Hinson (Connor), Paisley Ember Moree, Hunter Gainey, Weston Gainey, Alley Gainey, Colton Edwards, Lilli Huffman, Sophie Huffman and Keely Potter.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Sammy Lee Moree.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Friday, August 22, 2025, at Christian Life Church – Rock Hill.
