Lois A. Berthiaume (Brissette)
Bay City, Michigan
(October 15, 1935 – November 16, 2025)
Our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025, at her home, age 90. Lois was born October 15, 1935, in Bay City, to the late Paul and Johanna (Kusmierz) Brissette. Lois lived a full and rich life dedicated to her family and community. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and loyal friend.
Lois was the beloved wife of James W. Berthiaume. Earlier in her life, Lois found joy and peace in nature, spending countless hours tending to her garden and being outdoors. Later in life, she was an avid sports fan, never missing a chance to cheer on her favorite teams: the Detroit Lions and the Detroit Pistons, and eagerly following the excitement of March Madness.
Lois' memory will be forever treasured by her family. She is survived by her husband, James, and their three children: Joseph Berthiaume, Jeffrey Berthiaume and his wife, Kathryn Fiddler, and Cheryl Berthiaume. She was a proud grandmother to her two granddaughters, Samantha and Abigail. Lois was also blessed with five great-grandchildren-Mia, Ana, Dax, Zoe, and Alana-and looked forward to the arrival of her sixth great-grandchild, Baby Anderson, brother Ralph (Shirley) Brissette, and sister-in-law Sally Moore. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews from the Brissette and Berthiaume families who will dearly miss her.
The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to McClaren Hospice for their compassionate and attentive care during Lois's final days.
A Celebration of Life will be held in early 2026, with further details to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to McClaren Hospice in Lois' honor, in recognition of the exceptional support they provided.
Final arrangements were entrusted to Squires Funeral Home, 211 N. Henry Street, Bay City, MI 48706. You may share photos, stories, or expressions of sympathy with the family on Lois' obituary Tribute Wall @squiresfuneralhome.com
